Created in 1803, the French company Arthus-Bertrand is an international name in civilian and military decorations and orders (like the large Légion d’Honneur collar) and religious medallions, which come in hundreds of models engraved with angels, Madonnas or saints. For other occasions, be sure to look out the symbols and very fine enameled rosettes.
Nouvel Amour
One of the most creative companies for silver, gold and gold-plated medallions. Delphine Pariente customizes them, attaches them to necklaces and rings, or reworks them as earrings and in every conceivable shape. One even takes the form of a shell. This makes them suitable for all occasions and every kind of message. Pieces can be engraved on site when purchased.
Augis
In 1907, Augis created the famous medallion with a quote from Rosemonde Gérard’s poem celebrating her love for Edmond Rostand: “+ qu’hier et bien – que demain”(“more than yesterday; much less than tomorrow”). Long considered passé, it has now become the latest thing for young women, who often wear their grandmothers’ medallions. But this French company has chiefly been specializing in christening medallions since 1830. Its gold models with classic motifs are a sound choice.

Poinçon22 is a new brand dealing exclusively in customizable medallions, with classic designs like angels, Madonnas and doves. Worth noting: the somewhat unusual octagonal form. You can also send a card reproducing the pattern engraved on the medallion.

This store, which only functions online, offers all types of ancient pendants, including medallions with Zodiac signs, others engraved with St Christopher or the Virgin, decorated with cherubs in enamel, and so on.
Guérin Joaillier
This brand recently began offering a collection of extremely simple and refined medallions mainly designed as gifts to celebrate a birth: “Mon premier Guérin ” (my first Guérin). Some models are scalloped or illustrated with naïve drawings. You can add a birthstone or have them engraved. Prices start at €240.
