Italian micro-mosaics

Eliane Roudillon is a creator of objects and former auctioneer who seeks out jewelry in micro-mosaic. Often depicting flowers or landscapes made with tesserae (tiny pieces of glass assembled by hand), they were until the beginning of the twentieth century souvenirs brought back from Italy by wealthy young people making their first grand tour of Europe. Eliane Roudillon’s collection also includes more recent examples from the 1970s, the tradition of these micro-mosaic souvenirs having lasted until then.
