Cartier takes the cactus to become, like the panther, an iconic figure of its style. With its spiky sculptural beauty, the cactus is one of those little “flowers” little worked by jewelers, unlike the rose or daisy. And it’s not a sign of recognition of any house, unlike Dior’s lily of the valley or Chanel’s immediately recognizable camellia.
