Breakfast at Tiffany’s in the Hubert de Givenchy exhibition

This exhibition is the first since 1991 to be devoted to the remarkable work of Hubert de Givenchy. These cocktail dresses, coats and trouser suits have little use for jewelry: this may seem surprising, but let’s remember that before the 1990s fashion designers did not offer them in their collections. With one exception: the little black dress adorned with a necklace that was worn by Audrey Hepburn in Breakfast at Tiffany’s. Thanks to the director Blake Edward’s long takes, these strings of white pearls are today inscribed in the collective memory.

Until December 31st, 2017 at the Cité de la Dentelle et de la Mode, Calais, France.
