How to wear vintage jewelry? TFJP continues its series with the jewelry department of Christie’s Paris<\/a>: here is the 8th combination dreamed up by creative duo Laura Bonnefous and St\u00e9phanie Brissay.<\/p>\n

Cultivating a theme<\/strong><\/p>\n

The three brooches feature charming animals evoking the countryside: Van Cleef & Arpels’ mischievous duck with its beak and webbed feet in carnelian, Boucheron’s diamond snail with its gold shell dotted with black enamel, and Herm\u00e8s’ charming fawn with sapphire eyes. No need to wear traditional hunting garb \u2013 steer well clear of those little hats adorned with\u00a0 pheasant feathers. Mix it up with a cap, hoodie, and denim micro-shorts. And take the idea as far as you want: hunt for vintage brooches on the same theme (dance, automobile, travel, etc.) and mix them up.<\/p>\n

Rehabilitating the gold mesh bag<\/strong><\/p>\n

How to pair these small evening bags made of mesh gold that we love so much? Once considered too small to carry our personal items, they are now large enough to accommodate our smartphone and a lip gloss. Your keys go in your jacket pocket! Don’t even think of carrying these small bags on your forearm arm with a floral cocktail dress: it\u2019s all about bare legs and wellies, dangling them casually from your fingertips. So much more modern.<\/p>\n

Wearing a museum piece<\/strong><\/p>\n

No antique jewelry is unwearable, even the most baroque \u2013 like this 19th-century watch crammed with decorative effects, eagles with outspread wings, deities like Diana the huntress, and signs of the Zodiac. Under the dial is a enamel map evoking the great navigators. We imagine it in the showcase of the jewelry gallery at the Museum of Decorative Arts<\/a>, right next to Fouquet’s chatelaine… Well, here it is on the sleeve of a super cool gray hoodie.<\/p>\n
