These can be used to create figures like flower petals, which are then assembled on hairpins, combs or even slides. Known as kanzashi<\/em>, these accessories were long the only jewels worn by Japanese women, whose kimonos<\/a> revealed very little bare skin. There are hundreds of models made in coloured kimono fabrics that can perfectly serve as lapel brooches and if ever you feel like making your own kanzashi<\/em>, the house offers initiation workshops.<\/p>\n

Hiroyuki Sasaki opened his first multi-brand Tomorrowland<\/a> store in 1978 \u2013 and now has 100 throughout Japan. The beautiful but unsurprising men and women\u2019s collections favor Western designers such as Dries van Noten, Isabel Marant, and Loewe. \u00a0The jewelry area features Bunney and Charlotte Chesnais’s ergonomic creations.\u00a0 And there\u2019s plenty of room for contemporary Japanese designers<\/a>. Its selection includes\u00a0Hum<\/a>, Hirotaka,\u00a0Satomi Kawakita\u00a0who excels in highly collectible small gold jewelry or\u00a0Careering’s\u00a0<\/a>sublime large silver bracelets punctuated with a single gold link.\u00a0<\/span>My own favorite: Monaka<\/a> earrings carved in stone or cut in pearl.<\/p>\n
