A quick note to say how delighted I was to welcome you to my exhibition, Japan \u2013 Stillness and Substance<\/em>, at Sotheby\u2019s Paris. I owe its success to you, my community. On opening night, we welcomed representatives from the Japanese Embassy and the Franco-Japanese Committee (CCIP), along with so many enthusiasts, collectors, professionals, curators, and others. Over the exhibition\u2019s five days, some 800 visitors came from around the world. Your presence meant a great deal to me.<\/p>\n

I am grateful to the Japanese artists\u2014Aya Iwata<\/a>,\u00a0Shinji Nakaba<\/a>,\u00a0Mariko Sumioka<\/a>,\u00a0Manami Aoki<\/a>,\u00a0Kimiaki Kageyama<\/a>,\u00a0Fumiki Taguchi<\/a>, and\u00a0Takashi Kojima<\/a>\u00a0for\u00a0KOHKOH<\/a>\u2014for creating pieces especially for this exhibition and for placing so much trust in me. Three of them made the trip from Tokyo to Paris.<\/p>\n

The exhibition was warmly received by the press, including M Le Monde, O2, Europe 1, Beaux-Arts Magazine, and Madame Figaro Japon. The enthusiasm and emotion it inspired in visitors were also a fitting tribute to the artists\u2019 talent.<\/p>\n

Japan \u2013 Stillness and Substanc<\/em>e was made possible thanks to Magali Teisseire, director of the Jewelry Department at Sotheby\u2019s Paris. My thanks to her teams and to Giacobbe Selab for their work. I am also grateful to Ingrid Heuel for her invaluable collaboration and to Tomomi Minami Herbin. To Ludovic Leonelli for his unwavering support. And to Pomeline for the illustrations and set design.<\/p>\n
