This spectacular 1980s chain, designed by Cartier and part of a numbered series, comprises an endless succession of rectangular links formed by the geometric winding of a flat gold ribbon. Perfectly smooth and shiny on the front, it is textured on the back: the gold is engraved with a garland of stylized leaves. This ultra-long sautoir (about 91 cm) can be worn as a necklace or improvised into a belt.

The link is a fantastic medium of creativity, there are thousands of varieties. With such an infinite repertoire, nothing is impossible: we can toy with the shape, the choice of metal, or the gold work – not to mention the fact that it can also be paved with precious stones. And finally, it can either be identical all along the chain, or feature alternate patterns for added rhythm.

Length : about 91 cm
